Wagon Cranes are pieces of rolling stock equipped with a mechanical crane arm for grabbing and lifting things. There are two different kinds of them in Chuggington; large ones and smaller red ones.

Big Wagon Cranes[]

The Big Wagon Cranes are wagons designed for lifting large items such as logs. They have a wide reach, partly due to their crane sections having the ability to spin around 360 degrees.

Technical Details[]

Basis[]

While it is likely that some inspiration was taken in the creation of the big wagon cranes, there is no exact basis for them.

Livery[]

The big wagon cranes are typically painted bright yellow with green footplates; however, in the third season, a blue variant with red accents and a grey footplate was introduced.

The Gondolas Wagon Cranes are a small wagon crane variant of low-sided gondolas used for lifting smaller items and doing odd jobs involving an crane arm. Later in the series, a small wagon crane painted red would be used more often.

Technical Details[]

Basis[]

The cranes are based on low-sided gondolas in real life, only with a crane attachment.

Livery[]

The gondolas wagon cranes are painted blue with light-blue sides and dark-blue frames and a gold-coloured crane arm.
