First Things First is the eleventh episode of the second part of Chuggington: Badge Quest, as well as the thirty-seventh episode overall.
Plot[]
Hoot and Toot arrive at the Depot to meet Vee, who instructs them on how to earn their "first things first" badge- Vee will give Hoot and Toot three jobs, to which they must decide the right order to do them in. Mayor Pullman has an important meeting and must be at Safari Park by one o'clock- the three jobs are to pick up the mayor, have a Chug Wash and clean the tunnels. Toot figures that she and Hoot must look their best for the mayor, so they go and have a Chug Wash first. After receiving a compliment from Emery about their spotless paintwork, Hoot and Toot figure that it would be best to clean the tunnels next, as they will have to take the mayor through them.
While cleaning the tunnels, Hoot complains that it is already his turn to use the Scrub-A-Chug, to which Toot sprays him with water. Hoot attempts to separate from Toot, which causes her to bump into the Scrub-A-Chug, sending it cleaning rapidly through the tunnels. The water hose then sprays Hoot and Toot, putting them back into a good mood. The tunnels are soon spotless, but Emery is shocked to see Hoot and Toot filthy- the twins realize they did their jobs in the wrong order. However, Toot gets the idea of cleaning themselves with the Scrub-A-Chug, which works.
Mayor Pullman nearly leaves when Hoot and Toot arrive to pick her up. Mtambo, worried, is happy to see the mayor arrive in time. Hoot and Toot return to the Depot and explain to Vee that they did not do things in the right order. However, they are surprised to find that they have earned their badge; as Vee explains, they realized their mistake and learned the right order. Emery also arrives, commenting that the twins seemed to have had some "good, clean fun."
