Background information[]

Chatsworth is a fictional diesel locomotive created by Sarah Ball and Jimmy Hibbert.

Since his proper introduction in The Chugger Championship, and until his removal from the series, he would become one of the most prominent recurring characters.

Chatsworth is based on a Baldwin RF-16 and is painted white with red and silver lining.

Chatsworth has not appeared on the show since 2015.

CGI model[]

In 2007, Chatsworth was designed and modelled by Volume Studios in the 3D modelling software Sketchup during the production of the first series. The model was later exported to another software, Maya, for animation.[1] The model last appeared in the fifth series episode, Fletch Shines.

Chatsworth has had a couple of modifications throughout the series:

Modifications[]

  • Series 2:
    • He receives the new coupler and chugger plaque design.
    • His rear coupler entrance is opened at the bottom.
  • Series 3:
    • He gains a bit of roughness on his coupler hatch.
